Junior Social and Sustainability Practitioner

Job Summary

[Company] is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Junior Social and Sustainability Practitioner for immediate employment in our Mexico City office. This full-time, entry level position requires a highly motivated and proactive individual who can team work in interdisciplinary and international work groups, is completely bilingual (English / Spanish), and has a deep interest in linking best international practices with key industry sectors (i.e. renewable energy, power, O&G, mining, agriculture, infrastructure).

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for doing research on socioeconomic baseline conditions
  • Responsible for context analyses of political, social, cultural and economic issues
  • Participates in social, community health and safety, and cultural impact assessment processes with task leaders
  • Designs and implements management systems and monitoring reports
  • Conducts fieldwork activities (i.e. interacting with local stakeholders through workshops and focal interviews) and report development tasks

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and related fields (international relations, political science, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, etc.)
  • 6-12 months of working experience, preferably in international companies
  • Fully bilingual (near-native English / Spanish skills)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Sciences and related fields (international relations, political science, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, etc.)
  • 1+ years of working experience in international companies
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican regulations and international best practices related to Human Rights, cultural rights, vulnerable groups, and sustainability practices is desired
  • Interest in national and international social and geopolitical issues is not necessary but preferable
