CEMEX is looking to hire a temporary 18 month Renewable Power Generation Manager for a Wind Power Plant located at Baja California Norte, responsible for:

General management, support, coordination, supervision, follow-up of regulatory compliance (Environmental, H&S, land lease, interconnection, governmental authorities), contract management, build, maintain and create relationships with owners, turbine manufacturers, authorities, landowners, maintenance management of all assets (WTG and civil - electrical infrastructure (LV/MV/HV) for the Operations of Wind Power Plant in order to contribute positively to the Power Generation, Availability, H&S and general compliance and thus to the EBITDA of the project.

Main Accountabilities:

- Lead the development of the models and IT infrastructure and administrative tools required to accurately perform the obligations acquired by CEMEX Energy in its role of Asset Manager.

- Optimize the revenues and risk allocation of the Wind Power Plant.

- Execute flawlessly and promptly the required tasks and deliver timely the reports expected by Asset owners.

- Keep in force all the permits required to operate the project.

- Supervise at all the times that all the guarantees and warranties given by EPC Agreement and Operation and Maintenance agreement are in fully compliance.

- Provide and update all the needed information and payments in order to maintain in force all the insurance policy required by all the agreements entered by Solar Power Plant or Cemex in its role as Administrator.

- Prepare technical specifications to hire specialized services and run tender processes in order to execute BOP maintenance or other key service.

- Coordinate/interface with engineering, legal, finance, procurement, construction, energy marketing and partnering needed to ensure effective execution of the operations.

- Create and manage budgets, schedules and deliverables in order to assure the operation process.

- Deploy MET campaigns to assess and confirm energy resources in order to comply with Credit Agreements.

- Technical Assessment for Power projects regarding the main equipments such as (Wind Turbine Generators,Transformers and Electrical Substation and Transmission Lines).

- Relate and coordinate with government authorities (local/state/federal) to mantain MIAs, EVIS, ETJ, INAH, DGAC, CFE, CRE, CENACE, SENER, County for each assigned projects.

- Manage all the contracts and agreements related to the operations of the Wind Power Plant, complying with all the CEMEX side obligations, and supervise the compliance of each counterparty. Notify timely every deviation of contract or everything required therein.

- Provide supervision to the Turbine Manufacturer and third-parties subcontractors activities in order to assure the compliance of maintenance schedule, quality, H&S standards, etc.

- Establishment of processes and procedures (H&S, Environmental, Technical, Operative, and Maintenance) to perform all tasks related to the services hired. Assurance that all the human resources which collaborates in the area comply with.

- Schedule and lead daily, month and year meetings with the team to grant safe operations and communicate timely all the possible warnings and threats to the right party.

- Grant the 24x7 Operation of the project.

- Lead and develop the operations team, in order to create a collaborative ambient and a good place to work.

- Negotiatiate agrements with third-parties to achieve greatest cost reductions for CEMEX, continuously seeking the best cost benefit for the Wind Power Plant or operation areas while creating leveraging business opportunities through negotiation and contract development.

- Analyses, prepares and manages relevant category information necessary to recommend solutions to contribute to the business improvement and continuity.



Challenges of the position:
  • Negotiate with Turbine Manufacturer the guarantees and liquidated damages to be paid/compensated in order to comply contractual terms
  • keep motivation of the team, extract from them all the best in order to be capitalized with results that contribute with the objectives of Business unit.
  • Comply fully and efficiently with all the energy-management-related administrative tasks derived from CEMEX Energy’s asset management contracts.
  • Negotiate contracts fairly, ensuring the full scope of services is clear and covered; Assuring the right selection of main equipment in order to ensure warranties, guarantees, quality, price and performance.
  • Work quite close with authorities in order to detect misalignments timely in our requests and act promptly and diligent in order to solve these issues.
  • Manages and mitigates timely the threats on the operations.
  • Keep in force all the permits and create and maintain good relationship with all the parties (subcontractors, turbine manufacturer, authorities, landowners, lenders and owners) related to the project.
