Reporting to the Manager, Payroll &Time Administration, the Team Lead will oversee and support the payroll team and be responsible for first point of contact for payroll inquiries around payroll processing, transactions and data entry work within the payroll department. This role's primary responsibility will be to oversee the day to day activities of the payroll department while maintaining a culture of quality, accountability and data integrity working alongside key stakeholders to meet customer expectations within agreed service levels.

What you will do:
  • Monitor team standards and measures to improve performance levels and maintain customer expectations
  • Utilize resources within the team to ensure work flows effectively and delivery is in line with SLA's/KPI's and HRSSC Objectives
  • Ensure that all biweekly payroll processing, transactional and data entry services are delivered consistently, accurately and to a high standard
  • Drive forward a culture of compliance and consistency in relation to company Policy and Processes
  • First line of contact regarding biweekly payroll processing issues or errors with business partners, customers and company resources for resolution
  • First line of contact for inquiries from Finance regarding biweekly GL postings
  • Lead by example on all areas of company Health, Safety and Security initiatives

What you will bring:
  • A minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience, ideally with additional experience in a supervisory role
  • Certified Payroll Professional CPP Certification
  • Strong knowledge in US FLSA regulations and Canada Labour Standards
  • Experience with General Ledger accounting principles
  • A strong commitment to ongoing personal and team development
  • Competency in supporting / leading multiple projects simultaneously with a strong results orientation
  • Technology skills and expertise including SAP and good understanding of all Microsoft Office Packages
  • Excellent ability to organize and plan effectively to meet both short and long range goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills, leadership ability and decision making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working with multiple functions and in a multi-tasking, deadline oriented, team environment
  • Ability to establish and environment where the team feels inspired and motivated to achieve
  • Solution-oriented with demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, peers and team members
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, analytical, problem solving skills and initiative to achieve desired outcomes
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of working schedule
