Director, Operations and Commercial FP&A

[Company] is hiring a new Director, Operations and Commercial FP&A to work at our corporate office in Salt Lake City, UT. The Director of Ops and Commercial FP&A will provide financial direction and support for the Global Operations team including evaluating financial results of operational decisions and initiatives and providing insight, implications, and recommendations to the teams. The person in this role will also need to be able to understand/explain the accounting implications and proactively conduct analysis on operational effectiveness and cost containment opportunities. Besides support of the business units this position will also support all associated functions (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.).

The role is responsible for managing a budget, tracking and analyzing actual results, and making recommendations for process improvements. There are eight direct reports, with four of them having global responsibilities and the other four being regional managers.

In this role the successful candidate will need to provide leadership on development of complex analytical, budgeting and forecasting models. The ability to build strong relationships with all the business directors, being able to serve as a key financial interlocutor and playing a role as a business facilitator will be key skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field
  • MBA Preferred
  • 10+ years relevant Finance and accounting experience
  • Strong financial systems management skills (Oracle, Qlikview preferred)
  • Strong data analytics skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen
Responsibilities:
  • Financial & business planning and forecasting
  • FP&A team development
  • Finance and business processes expertise and innovation in financial reports/support for the business
  • Analysis of actual financial performance for the regions and division
  • Board and Executive Committee presentations and proposals
  • Business Development support and business solutions oriented
  • Special Projects leadership to advance the strategies and performance of the business
  • Inventory reporting
  • Other duties as needed
