Materials Engineer

Assesses material supplier process reliability and quality management system effectiveness; resolves complex, systemic material quality issues with support of Materials Engineering group; trouble shoots manufacturing problems as they relate to materials, directs suppliers optimization of their manufacturing process to reduce manufacturing problems; creates charts, graphs and reports, etc. and presents in meetings to executives both at corporate and at supplier; measures quality of materials using material lab equipment; receives inside and outside communication and asks appropriate questions to clarify supplier issues and countermeasures; supports introduction of new materials and material suppliers.

Requirements: 

• Materials and Science Engineering (or Metallurgy) degree and a minimum of 2 years experience with rolled aluminum materials, demonstrated problem solving skills, good people skills.

Desired: 

• Knowledge of aluminum stamping and forming process, furnace brazing
• Experience with plastics
